Peter M. Bruce is UK born and now a permanent resident of Cebu. He studied Photography at City of Westminster College, London. Then took up watercolor painting approximately 12 years ago. His work uses photographic techniques of composition, light and "capturing the moment" combined with the vibrance and saturation that watercolor gives.
Peter is inspired by the Filipino light and the abundance of ambient colors in which he recreates the local scenes, Jeepneys and Festivals.
He views the familiar Filipino street scene in a different way. Seeing a landscape of pure light and color. That Sari Sari store, Jeepney, advertising hording etc. is not a function to get coffee, shampoo or a ride home. But a source of high saturation of color within the moment in time. His art documents the ever-changing life of the Filipino, which will adapt and vary in years to come.
Peter Has exhibited at Art festivals such as TubÔ Cebu, South Arts Fair, Alabang and the Visayas Art Fair Cebu and exhibited in Dry Brush Gallery and Kapitolyo Art Space in Manila.
